Formal Duties
Setting up the business and operating it in compliance with the requirements of the State of Texas.
Establishing and managing the FLYworks, LLC bank account.
Receiving and depositing donations and any other income.
Managing expenses within the limits of actual income.
Sharing the purchasing duties with the director.
Keeping records required by the IRS and State of Texas.
Planning. Promotion. Publicity. Fundraising.
Secretary. Computer technician.
Acting as the primary contact for most things related to FLY KiDS and FLYworks, LLC.

Informal Duties
Helping at rehearsals, performances, and summer camp (setting up, interacting with the kids, talking with parents and visitors, assisting the director when needed, fetching and carrying).

Business Manager

The business manager for FLY KiDS is Mike Wood. He and Kathy have been husband and wife since 1966. Formerly they worked together producing the professional touring FLY Dance Company— Kathy handling the art and Mike the business. This business grew from zero annual income to over $400,000 in five years.

With FLY KiDS, Kathy and Mike are again working as a team in much the same roles as with FLY Dance Company.

The FLY KiDS program is run under FLYworks, LLC. Though far less complex than a professional touring dance company with a payroll of seven, FLYworks still needs responsible management. That is the job of the Business Manager.

Mike has worked in the business world almost exclusively throughout his career, the exceptions are one year teaching math right after college and his experience with FLY Dance Company. Currently he is semi-retired from Sonetics, a computer software company.
