FLY KiDS Auditions
FLY KiDS members are selected by audition. Periodically auditions are held to replace dancers who have left the program or to expand the group.
FLY KiDS does not require any dancer to have been trained in dance. You need to have talent, love to perform, work hard, and be committed to FLY KiDS.
Be sure to examine the web site to learn all you can about being a member of FLY KiDS.
Members are normally required to be in 3rd-7th grades. At the end of a school year, second graders will be accepted for auditions.
The process involves showing your free-style skills in a solo, learning a choreographed piece, performing the choreography in groups with other dancers led by FLY KiDS members, and standing for an interview where you'll be asked questions like why you want to be in FLY KiDS and what you think you can contribute.
The first FLY KiDS Summer Dance Intensive was completed July 27, 2007. It was a lot of fun and the dancers learned a lot. Attending a FLY KiDS camp a good way to prepare a dancer to audition for FLY KiDS. It is also a good opportunity to meet and work with the directors of the program, experience the style of dance, and meet and dance with current FLY KiDS members. It's a chance to have fun, learn a lot, and perform in a public student concert and get a taste of "show biz."
